ISAJE Annual Meeting 2007
2007, 27 - 29 September
Castle Eckberg, Dresden, Germany Programme can be downloaded here. The 2007 conference, was hosted in Dresden by Gerhard Bühringer, ISAJE President and editor-in-chief of Sucht. It is ten years since the inaugural meeting in Connecticut and much has been achieved by ISAJE in that time. Our conferences are ideal opportunities for networking and past attendees value them highly. New people are most welcome to join us and you will find a friendly and collegiate spirit where much valuable work can be accomplished. Academic programme This year's theme was "Quality Assurance in Addiction Publishing." The programme was designed to interest both current members and new ones. An outline is enclosed. Topics embraced publishing ethics (including possible ethical guidelines for publishers); issues of terminology; strategies for national journals seeking entry into the big bibliographic databases; proposal for a mentoring scheme for new editors, and launch of ISAJE's self-guided online tutorial for authors. As usual we will hear presentations from editors about their journals. Members were most welcome to suggest themes of current interest in the journal publishing arena. A full report and discussion on ISAJE's range of activities was presented at the annual general meeting. With warm good wishes Gerhard Bühringer (ISAJE President) Susan Savva (ISAJE Executive Officer) |
