Henry R. Kranzler
Henry R. Kranzler, M.D. is Benjamin Rush Professor and Director of the Center for Studies of Addiction at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kranzler’s research on the the molecular genetics of alcohol, opioids, cannabis, cocaine, and nicotine use disorders and the precision treatment of these disorders using pharmacogenetics has been continuously supported since 1987 by grants from the U.S. National Institutes of Health. In 2019, he received a Senior Clinical Scientist Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs, where he is a funded investigator on the Million Veteran Program. He has authored more than 480 journal articles and more than 100 book chapters and has edited nine books. For the past six years, Dr. Kranzler has served as the Editor of Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, the official journal of the Research Society on Alcoholism. He is also currently on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology, Drug and Alcohol Dependence, and Exploration of Medicine.
