Sally Gainsbury
Biography
Dr. Sally Gainsbury is Associate Professor in the School of Psychology, Director of the Gambling Treatment and Research Clinic, and Founder of the Technology Addiction Team at the University of Sydney. She is the Editor of the peer-review multi-disciplinary journal International Gambling Studies. Dr. Gainsbury’s research focuses on understanding gambling and gambling-related harms with the aim to inform policy and practice to minimise these. Her research and efforts concentrate on the impact of emerging technologies on gambling and gaming and the opportunities and challenges these create from a harm-minimization practice. Dr. Gainsbury has received numerous awards recognizing her research excellence and contribution to society including being NSW Tall Poppy of the Year (2019), winning several prestigious fellowships from the University of Sydney, and being awarded an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (2016). |
