Anna trained in the field of Education and Psychology first in Greece and then at the Institute of Education, University of London from where she received her PhD in 1995. Her research thesis was carried out on the field of prevention of alcohol abuse in middle adolescents. She started her work at KETHEA in 1992 as the Head of KETHEA Education Department with the main task to plan, supervise, implement and evaluate training programmes for mental health professionals in the field of drug addiction in Greece and Cyprus. During her twenty years there she has collaborated with national and international organizations for the development of training programmes. One of the significant projects that has been runs for the last 14 years includes a collaborative training programme on Addiction Counseling with the Department of Psychiatry, University of California, San Diego. In 2003 she completed her Post-Doctoral Research (Research Fellow) in the field of Training Mental Health Professionals in Drug Abuse at the Institute of Psychiatry under the supervision of Kim Wolff. Anna Tsiboukli is the Assistant Editor of the journal on addiction issues EXARTISIS, Member of the International Editorial Group of the journal Drugs: Education, Prevention and Policy and a Chartered Psychologist of the British Psychological Society.
